St Paul’s School
Wednesday 12 February, 6.15pm
It is less than a month until the inaugural Ahead of the Game event at St Paul’s School.
Join our world-class speaker line up for a convivial evening of discussions and networking, where we will explore the science of player welfare and the role it will play in the future of sport.
Hosted by Sam Peters (1991-96), author of the award-winning book Concussed – Sport’s Uncomfortable Truth, alongside former Mail on Sunday Sports Editor, Alison Kervin OBE, the event will see speakers from sport, science and technology come together for three panel discussions:
While recognising and championing the benefits of sports participation, the first panel discussion will outline the growing scientific evidence linking repetitive head trauma with long-term damage, while exploring proactive measures to improve safety.
Our panellists include world-leading neuropathologist, Professor Willie Stewart, lead sports physician at the English Institute of Sport, Professor Mike Loosemore, consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon, Professor Bill Ribbans, and Head of Department of Sport, Exercise and Nutrition at Atlantic Technological University, Dr Lisa Ryan.
