The latest news from the Old Pauline Club

September 2017 - Old Pauline Newsletter
Welcome to the September issue of the Old Pauline Club eNews
As one academic year finishes and another begins here at St Paul’s, we would like to welcome to the OP community the 203 new Old Paulines who left St Paul’s in June and to congratulate them on an outstanding set of A Level results. Almost half of all grades were at or equivalent to A*, which was a just return for the hard work and talent of the year group.

We send our heartfelt congratulations to all those who graduated from university this summer. Please let us know how you did and what your future plans are –
it would be great to hear from you.

We also take this opportunity to formally welcome new OPC President Rob Smith (1981-86) into office following his election at the AGM in July.
Read our article about his appointment on our website.
We are pleased to announce that the new dining hall, pictured above, opened last week ready for the first day of term. The Dining Hall returns to its original position in Barnes on the north side of the quad and at the heart of the School site. There was much celebration amongst boys (and staff) for the return of ‘Fish and Chip Fridays’ following their two year absence during the rebuild.

We have so many plans for the next year and look forward to meeting many of you in person over the next few months.
Patrick Neate’s play Babel performed by Pauline Cast at the Lyric

In July this year SPASM, a company of Pauline and Paulina L8ths, performed a new production based on the script Babel written by OP and widely acclaimed author Patrick Neate in the Lyric Studio in Hammersmith. The group performed to large and very appreciative audiences over a period of one week and were visited by the author who watched their first performance. Read more here.
OP Lodge Update

This year has been a special year for Freemasons around the world as our United Kingdom Grand Lodge is celebrating 300 years since foundation (writes David Cons). Our Grand Lodge is regarded as the mother Lodge worldwide and there will be a celebratory meeting at the Royal Albert Hall in November where the Grand Master HRH the Duke of Kent will preside. New York Branch
Eight Old Paulines, Paulinas, Colet Fellows and guests met for lunch at the University Club in New York on 19 July, with appetites satiated by the raw bar and elegant buffet. Conversation inevitably included politics, given the looming Trump Tower building two blocks away, but was enlivened by much laughter and many reminiscences especially of past lunch attendees and six courses of oysters.
