Welcome to the November issue of the Old Pauline Club eNews

Welcome to the November eNews! We are pleased to announce that tickets for the 2018 Feast Service are open and selling fast; this event welcomes OPs to a service at St Paul’s Cathedral, where the choirs of both the Junior and Senior Schools sing, and then for a drinks reception and buffet supper at Mercers’ Hall. Please do book your tickets soon to avoid disappointment.

We will also be holding our traditional Christmas Dinner at Colets with speaker Aurélien Guéroult on Friday 8 December. Please do get a table of friends and guests together for this evening to celebrate the festive season.
OLD PAULINE CLUB NEWS...

The Old Pauline Trust Limited

When the Trust was set up in 1972, its aim was to establish a substantial capital fund, the income from which would be used to benefit the Club and the School. Visit the OPC website to find out how the Trust has benefitted the St Paul's Community.
Lodge

The Autumn meeting of the Old Pauline Lodge took place in October at the School (writes member David Cons).  The Lodge currently does not have any applicants for membership, so we borrowed a new member of the Old Marlburian Lodge to be passed to his second degree and several of their members accompanied him for the ceremony and dinner. Read full story on the OPC website
New General Teaching Building Unveiled

The new general teaching building was opened to all pupils and staff following Remedy on 30 October 2017. The centrepiece of the new building is the Kayton Library, extending over two floors facing the Thames and includes two seminar rooms, the Brian Schofield Rare Books Room and the School Archives.  Both the Library and Rare Books Room are named after OPs who left generous legacies to the School. Extensive landscaping of the old north access road has created an attractive space linking the Drama Centre and Wathen Hall to Founder’s Court.

The building also houses the school's Kitchen and Dining Hall, along with 28 classrooms: the departments of Geography, History, Modern and Foreign Languages, Politics and Philosophy and Religious Studies.

Further photos of the new build can be found on the
St Paul's School website.
