This Autumn, the Milton Studio plays host to one of Arthur Miller’s lesser-known works, Incident at Vichy. In 1942, a group of men find themselves waiting to be interviewed by the police, the purpose of the investigation unclear to them. Optimism battles pessimism as the question no one wants to ask looms: are they there because they’re Jewish? Performed by a cast of Sixth Form actors, this tense one-act play explores the relationship between hope and fear in a culture of intolerance.
