The St Paul’s Professional Groups were first launched in 2016 in collaboration with the Old Pauline Club and Parents’ Group. Their aim is to connect those working in specific professional fields and to support current pupils and young Old Paulines in their career journey.
How can we expect the world to evolve in terms of demographics, economics, technology, environment and beyond? And how will entrepreneurs form part of the solution to these ever-changing major issues? Whatever the case, we will be able to better prepare for the future if we can get a clear view of future trends and patterns.
This year’s conference will focus on the concept of Supertrends, a term coined by serial entrepreneur and Keynote speaker, Lars Tvede. These are turbulent times, and we all need to be ready for what’s coming if we hope to thrive. He will address what we can expect in the coming decades, and how companies and entrepreneurs should adapt to accelerating change.
We are delighted to be joined by members of our Community for the St Paul’s Entrepreneur Networking Evening, hosted by Nick Troen OP (1998-2003) and featuring Lars Tvede, Anil Stocker OP (1997-2002), John Ramsey and Jessie Frahm.

Panellists:
Keynote speaker Lars Tvede: An award-winning serial entrepreneur, a successful financial investor and bestselling author. Having co-founded the venture capital fund Nordic Eye, Lars then went on to found Supertrends, which uses AI, text-mining and crowdsourcing to map global innovation – past, present and in the future. He has also written 16 books on creativity, marketing, high-tech, the future, innovation, libertarianism, and financial markets, including the international bestsellers Supertrends – 50 things you need to know about the future, The Creative Society, The Psychology of Finance, and Business Cycles. He has recently launched Atlas Global Macro; a hedge fund with an international focus.
Anil Stocker (OP): Anil is the Co-Founder and CEO of MarketFinance – a FinTech company pioneering frictionless access to payments and credit for business transactions. Since launch in 2011, MarketFinance has processed £20 billion in B2B payments and advanced £3 billion in credit to UK businesses. The company has raised £60 million in equity and £500 million in debt finance to power its development. Anil is an active angel investor having invested in 20+ early stage start-ups across FinTech, Open Banking, B2B marketplaces, and crypto/web3. He is a passionate traveller and avid reader.
Jessie Frahm: Jessie is a sustainability and communication specialist who delivers high-energy keynotes presentations that challenge the audience to rethink their role and empower them to be a change-maker in work and life. Organisations transitioning towards a sustainable future love working with Jessie as a consultant; Jessie and her team put sustainability at the heart of the client’s supply chain, operations and marketing, earning her the moniker of the Marie Kondo of sustainability.
Jessie received her MSc from Aarhus School of Business. She is an Alumni of the University of Cambridge school of sustainable business management and GRI certified. Working her way up to board level, Jessie holds a solid background in marketing and sustainable process delivery, having helped some of the world’s leading brands across tech, entertainment, events, finance, FMCG, food and fashion.
As the founder of Planet One Point Five, Jessie is leading a boutique consultancy with a big mission to “Save the planet one business at a time”.
John Ramsay: As a teenager John had experienced first-hand the difficulties of having a loved one live with dementia after his father was diagnosed. He dedicated his younger years, while studying at Winchester College and Oxford University, to helping care for his father until he sadly passed away. Although John started his professional career at Linklaters in London, working as a corporate lawyer, his experiences of caring for his father led him to leave the city and start pursuing a new business venture in the dementia care industry.
John began learning about interactive light technology, and how this could make a huge difference to people living with dementia. He spent several years in the sector, developing products for the sector and working with some of the biggest care groups. This led him to start his own business, Social-Ability, with the ambition of revolutionising the experiences for people living with cognitive challenges.
John is currently MD of Social-Ability, a member of the UK’s National Standards Committee on Ageing Societies and a passionate advocate for raising awareness of the challenges faced by those living with cognitive challenges.
Hosted by Nick Troen – After working at KPMG and Innocent, Nick founded Poncho 8, a chain of burrito restaurants in the City, before moving on to his current position as Geography Teacher and Head of Entrepreneurship at St Paul’s School.
