Scout Reunion 2016 - 26 June

2016 marks 30 years since the School Scout Group closed and seems an appropriate time to hold a reunion for former members.

The Group was founded in 1928 and, although finding leaders was always a challenge, it was never short of members wishing to escape from the more mainstream school academic and sporting activities. Sadly, by 1986 after a decade or so being run by Old Paulines, no one could be found to keep the group going and closure became inevitable. Many long lasting friendships were forged during sailing or canoeing trips, overnight hikes and camps.

Even now, a small bunch of regulars makes an annual visit to Norfolk to sail on the Broads, thus continuing a tradition established in the 1950s – even hiring some of the same traditional yachts on which many of the school Scouts learned to sail.

Former members are invited to gather at a venue in SW15, London (venue to be announced closer to the event) to reconnect and reminicise. We shall endeavour to compile an audio-visual display from the various collections of photographs taken over the years.
