In this month’s edition, the newsletter begins with an itroduction from the OPC President, Simon ‘Chip’ Hardy (1974-79), discussing the relaunch of individual grants, a scheme reopened for projects in volunteering, environmental work, and community service. Simon looks ahead and expresses his thanks to volunteers who give their time to the OPC in any such capacity.

The newsletter then features a range of alumni achievements and updates including:

  • Emerging Alumni Awards 2026 – Nominations now open for young Old Paulines making significant contributions.
  • Feast Service Supper – Reminder and invitation to attend the traditional service at St Paul’s Cathedral and Mercers’ Hall.
  • St Paul’s Careers Fair – Invitation for Old Paulines to support current pupils at the careers event.
  • First Term Reunion – Recap of recent gathering for recent alumni with strong attendance.
  • Congratulations to Leo Suter (2007-12)on his appointment as the new Inspector Lynley.
  • A forthcoming Classically Social Concert with renowned pianist Noah Zhou (2014-19).
  • New Year Honours List featuring OPs Orlando Fraser (1980-84) who received a CBE, and Giles Shilson (1986-91) who was awarded an OBE.
  • A round up of OPFC’s recent success with many OPs taking to the rugby pitch, with match highlights now available.
  • Dr. Alexander Bubb (1999-2004), has achieved a remarkable double victory by winning two awards for his work in Victorian literary studies.
  • Felix Mackenzie (2009–14) is leading an Africa expedition on battery metals and seeks OP contacts.
  • Mark Rosenblatt (1990-95) included in The Stage Magazine’s Top 100 – the definitive list of the most influential figures in the UK theatre and performing arts.
  • A number of OPs met for a festive lunch on before Christmas at the University Club, New York.

The newsletter closes with an update on some of the key events in the coming weeks and months, alongside an In Memoriam section, honouring late Old Paulines.
