We are sorry to share the news that David (Dave) Rollitt died on 17 December 2022 at Charing Cross following a long illness.
Dave was employed from 1977-2003 as a Maths teacher and coach of the 1st XV rugby team, but returned multiple times until 2015 to assist with cover in the Mathematics Department and rugby coaching. A former England back row, Dave’s arrival at St Paul’s in 1977 was much anticipated and he became a popular and large presence at the school. His wife, Shirley, worked as Head Science Technician and their son, Eben, is an Old Pauline (1986-91). For those who didn’t know Dave and Shirley, David’s Valete in the 2002-03 edition of The Pauline offers an insight into their time and influence at St Paul’s.
Dave’s Cremation will be held on 18 January at 2pm. Due to large numbers expected at the crematorium, the service is also being live streamed. Please email community@stpaulsschool.org.uk for the live stream details.
