Eamon Jubbawy (2005-10) and friends Ruhul Amin and Husayn Kassai, will share eight-figure payouts after the acquisition of their start-up Onfido.
Onfido taps AI to deliver ID verification software to clients such as BT, HSBC, Revolut and Moneyfarm. It is understood that American payments and data security group, Entrust, will pay $650 million to take over Onfido. Its software was described by Entrust CEO Todd Wilkinson as “best-in-class.”
Kassai, 34, Jubbawy, 32, and Amin, 36, founded Onfido in 2012 while they were at Oxford University studying economics and management.
Since leaving Onfido in 2020, Jubbawy has set up Isometric, a carbon registry.
