The Old Pauline Lodge met at the School in October (writes David Cons 1954-57) for our first meeting at the School for over a year due to the pandemic.
Freemasonry is based on the old traditions of operative Masons and the ceremonies are founded on this. Our Master Rabbi Zvi Solomons (1981-86) took charge and carried out one of the ceremonies for an Old Pauline currently in a lodge in Cambridge.
The meeting of the Lodge took place in the Montgomery Room and finished in time for us to attend the Old Pauline Club Annual Dinner where we had two tables of 10. This enjoyable evening brought us all up-to-date with happenings at the School followed by an entertaining talk by OP John Simpson about his time at the School and his subsequent career as a journalist.
The Lodge has four meetings a year at Barnes with the kind permission of the School and our next meeting will take place in January. The lodge is exclusively for OPs and members of staff and if any OP is interested to have more information and a meeting he should contact our secretary Nigel Young secretary@oldpaulinelodge.org.uk
