Shaping Our Future campaign, an update for Old Paulines

The Shaping Our Future campaign has so far raised a total of £10.2m (cash and pledges over the five-year period of the campaign, correct as of November 2020). This includes £7.9m towards our £10.4m target for bursaries and partnership work.

We are delighted to share the impact of such fundraising with the expansion of the school’s bursary programme, shown in the statistics below.

Our first-ever Telethon took place from 8 – 21 September 2020. Many of you will have been contacted by recent leavers as part of the campaign. The telephone campaign was an outstanding success, thanks to the generosity of our community. 15 OP callers had conversations with 653 Old Paulines and received 205 donations. Of these, 170 were first time donors. The campaign raised £133,156 in total (over 4 years), and 110 regular gifts were committed. We have also received a generous donation of £50,000 in matched funding from an Old Pauline, £500 of which was unlocked each time a regular donation was confirmed during the campaign.

The 2020 Leavers’ Bursary Appeal raised £286,114, from the leaving parents of 2020, an exceptional total, especially given the current economic climate. This brings the total raised through this annual appeal to £900,019 since its inception in 2014. Six boys have so far been gifted a St Paul’s education thanks to the scheme. These annual appeals can be subsequently added to during reunion events going forward.

September saw the launch of the USA Colet Foundation Bursary, a tailored way for the American arm of our community to come together and support current and future bursary pupils in attending St Paul’s. We are delighted to report that over $100,000 has now been pledged towards this appeal from our USA-based OPs.

The School remains incredibly grateful to the Old Pauline Community for its members’ generosity in donating to this and previous campaigns.
