Special Christian Union service for John Beastall (1954-59)

The next Christian Union event will be a special service of thanksgiving to celebrate the huge contribution John Beastall (1954-59), also known as Tub, made to CU Meetings and House Parties over more than 50 years.

Old Paulines, spouses and other family members are most welcome to join the service at 3pm on Saturday 20 April at St Martin’s Church, West Acton W3 9SQ, where Tub was an active member of the congregation for many years. There is street parking available in the roads adjacent to the church and Ealing Common tube station (District; Piccadilly Line) is 7 minutes’ walk away.

Refreshments will be served in the church after the service and we hope you will stay and share your own memories of Tub.

We also plan to have a curry at 7pm in a local Indian restaurant. We will need to know numbers to make sure the restaurant can accommodate us, so do RSVP if you plan to join. If you can’t make the service in the afternoon, but would like to come to the restaurant, you are very welcome. Please click here to let us know if you can come.

Whether you are able to attend or not, we welcome written contributions of your memories of Tub, which you can send to memorial@paulinemeetings.org. We plan to display these on the day and may include some within the service itself. We also intend to display a range of photographs of Tub through the years, so please do check your old photo albums and send anything suitable to memorial@paulinemeetings.org. The best way would be in digital form, but if you don’t have the facility to scan your photos, please let us know and we can make arrangements with you directly.

We very much hope you can make it.
